A 40% slope, shallow topsoil, and nearly impenetrable volcanic shale — not to mention the slithering occupants — qualify Rattlesnake Hill as extreme farming, precisely what’s required to tame the vigorous varietal. Boasting lively acidity and lush richness, Venom is one of our most sought-after and aging-worthy wines.
