Seghesio Family Vineyards

2010 Dionigia
2010 Dionigia

“Dionigia” was Angela Seghesio’s middle name and translates to “wine goddess” in Italian. Originally from the Lombardy region in Northern Italy, Angela was quite proud of her heritage and was an integral part in maintaining the business while Edoardo tended to the vineyards and winemaking. This blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from estate vineyard sites grown at the Home Ranch vineyard in Alexander Valley. Creating this wine was the perfect way to honor Angela’s lasting memory.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Chocolate covered cherries, Asian spices and caramel converge, creating aromatic depth. Elegant sweetness with floral notes of lilacs and violets are enhanced by the full bodied palate. This wine is buttery, dense and luscious with a long finish.

Long, warm days aided by the absence of marine influence marks this site. The soils are composed of clay and clay loam with underlying layers of basalt, sandstone and serpentine rock. Vines are challenged by the low nutrient level of the clay and the shallow topsoil, which both force them to produce more concentrated fruit.
