If you’ve visited Seghesio Family Vineyards recently, you’ve likely noticed Stella nestled beneath the trees in our Grove.
With her polished aluminum exterior and vintage charm, Stella has quickly become part of the Seghesio experience, welcoming guests to gather outdoors with a glass of wine in hand. Like so much of what you’ll find here, she has a story worth sharing.
Before finding her home in Healdsburg, Stella traveled California as Mini Malene, a vintage Airstream created for Malene Rosé at our sister winery, Chamisal Vineyards, in the Edna Valley.
She spent her days bringing wine to festivals, coastal gatherings, and special events, introducing guests to the bright, refreshing character of Malene Rosé along the way. Wherever she stopped, she created a place for people to slow down, connect, and enjoy a glass of wine together. From sunny afternoons by the coast to lively winery celebrations, Stella became known as a welcoming gathering place that invited conversation, discovery, and memorable moments.
When it was time for her next chapter, she made her way north to Sonoma County.
At Seghesio, we’ve always believed that wine is best enjoyed together. Around our table, hospitality comes naturally, stories are shared generously, and every guest is welcomed like family. Stella felt right at home from the moment she arrived.
Renamed Stella, the Italian word for “star,” she now serves wine from her window in the Grove, surrounded by towering trees, gardens, and bocce courts that have welcomed guests for generations. Stella is open on weekends and during select winery events, offering another inviting place to gather with a glass of wine while taking in a beautiful Sonoma afternoon. Whether you’re joining us for a tasting, relaxing with friends after a game of bocce, or simply
enjoying the Grove, Stella has become a favorite stop for guests looking to slow down and savor the moment.
Her vintage character feels right at home alongside our historic estate, blending timeless design with the easy hospitality that has defined Seghesio for more than 130 years. She isn’t just part of the landscape. She’s part of the welcome.
Stella’s journey also reflects the spirit of the Crimson Wine Group family of wineries. Her story began on California’s Central Coast, and today she continues that tradition of hospitality at Seghesio, where guests from near and far gather to experience the wines and stories that have shaped our family for generations.
While her surroundings have changed, from coastal views to historic vineyards, her purpose remains the same: bringing people together over a glass of wine.
Like the vineyards we continue to steward and the traditions we’ve carried forward since 1895, Stella reminds us that every chapter builds on the one before it. Her story is one of craftsmanship, connection, and finding the right place to call home.
If you’re visiting on a weekend or joining us for one of our select winery events, be sure to stop by Stella in the Grove. She’ll be there to welcome you with a glass of wine and the same warm hospitality that has defined Seghesio for generations.
She has traveled hundreds of miles, poured countless glasses, and collected stories along the way. Today, those stories continue beneath the trees at Seghesio, where old vines, Italian heritage, and Sonoma hospitality come together.
The next time you visit Seghesio Family Vineyards, stop by the Grove, raise a glass, and say hello to Stella. We think you’ll find, just as she did, that some places simply feel like home.
