Welcome to the Seghesio Family
Seghesio Family Vineyards has been part of the history and fabric of Sonoma County since 1895--testament to the indomitable will of a man, his wife, their family, and their determination to persevere against incredible odds. Through five generations, our stewardship of the land and craftsmanship of our wines has paid tribute to those who came before us.
Seghesio Family Vineyards continues to specialize in Sonoma County Zinfandel and Italian variety wines made from estate-owned and farmed vineyards, including those Edoardo and Angela first planted in the late 1800s.
Our Family Story
The story begins in 1895 when Italian immigrant and winemaker Edoardo Seghesio planted his first Zinfandel vineyard in what is now Seghesio’s Home Ranch Vineyard in Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley.
Our interactive timeline highlights Edoardo's vision and determination of an immigrant in Sonoma County and continues through the hardship of Prohibition and the challenges of survival in the 20th and 21st century.
Led by fourth-generation winemaker, Ted Seghesio, the winemaking team follows a path forged by founder Edoardo. Dedicated to crafting wines by hand, Ted captures the essence of each variety and vineyard.
Seghesio Family Vineyards continues to produce Sonoma County wines made almost exclusively from estate-owned and farmed vineyards, including those Edoardo and Angela first planted in the late 1800s.
