Since planting our first vines in 1895, the Seghesio family name has become synonymous with the highest quality Zinfandel and Italian varietal wines from Sonoma County. Our roots in Sonoma County run deep; it’s our heart and our home. With our Classic Seghesio Collection, we aim to celebrate the best this region has to offer with two of our favorite Zinfandel bottlings—Rockpile and Cortina.
Our Sonoma Zinfandel is crafted from an average selection of 172 lots each vintage. Each of these hundreds of small lot wines are individually assessed and tasted for character and quality. From there, our winemaking team thoughtfully assembles a blend that is always consistent in its representation of place and quality.
As Chardonnay has become the most widely planted variety in Sonoma County we wanted to take the opportunity to make our own unique and compelling Chardonnay that supports our mission to share the heart of Sonoma County. We have added in a small portion of our estate-grown Vermentino for a uniquely Seghesio twist, and set out to make a Chardonnay that is bright and focused with a kiss of oak and the pure, intense fruit characteristic of our signature style.
